A to Z – Learning a new alphabet

We are beginning to learn our first new alphabet this week.  I say first, because we will be learning two.  Just to live in Tajikistan we have to learn the Cyrillic alphabet (also used in Russia).  Althought Tajik and Dari are similar languages – they each have their own alphabet.  Dari uses the Persian alphabet (Arabic).  Below are our names in Cyrillic:

НОЕЛ is Noel
ТЕРИСА is Teresa
ВИНТӮР is Winter
ДАВИД is David

We’ll post the Arabic version in a few weeks when we learn that alphabet. – Noel
