A Pre Ramazan Party

Wednesday was a big day for us.  First of all, mom came in on the early morning flight to join us for a few weeks.  I will post more about her in the next week complete with pictures of her and the kids.  Secondly, we had an all Pactec party.   Wednesday is like a Friday for us with no work on Thursday and Friday.  All the staff was invited whether they worked at the airport, office or even as a chaikidor.  The menu was hamburgers, chips (french fries), watermelon, mangos, and Shir yakht.  Many of you saw the picture of the shir yakht from Noel’s picture of the week.  (Let us know if you don’t receive this and would like to.)  The staff seemed to enjoy the food with some eating two hamburgers.  The chips were made fresh by one of the chaikidors and were some of the best I have eaten.

Earlier in the week, us ladies had gathered to make the hamburger patties for the night and then that morning gathered again to slice tomatoes, watermelon and do other prep.   Notice even mom got to help even though she was just a few hours in the country.

It was neat to see the staff just hanging out and having a good time.  Some talked.  Others played chess or uno.  The national staff is mostly guys with only two national ladies in the office.  Noel especially enjoyed getting caught up with the guys he used to work with at the office when he was in charge of booking.  Here are some pictures of the event.

Ramazan started on Friday.  Being July, our days are hot and long.  Pray for the people as they fast that they will be safe and this will be a time of spiritual openness.  Also pray for security as sometimes the combination of heat and not eating can make tempers flare.
